Λω / Lo is a word of respect in Laconia. Spoken for the most capable, the bravest.
 Rooted in ancient Greek excellence (ἀγαθός), it honors strength, virtue, and wisdom.
 Λω-The Laconia Initiative is inspired by this spirit and is driven by the appreciation and respect towards our land and its people.
Roots can be also found in the ancient Greek word ‘Λάας / Láas’, which means stone. The symbolism of the stone has inspired the visualisation of our Laconia initiative. In our logotype, the stone represents Laconia and every corner represents a city or village within it. We bring together land, people, and ideas to build a living network across the region; cultivating culture, nature, and innovation for a sustainable future. Each edge a place, each line a connection.

INITIAL MULTI-STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOPS

Based on interviews, experiences and studies, key pillars of the Lo initiative were drafted by the stewarding team. During three multistakeholder workshops, these pillars were presented, reconfirmed and enriched by selected active key stewards of the region providing an initial framework for collaboration, and defining the direction of the Laconia Initiative.

DESIGN WORK OF CORE TEAM

In order to advance and create fruitful terrain for multistakeholder collaboration, the core team takes forward elements for the Lo initiative, emerged partly from the multistakeholder workshops.
These initial tools include a common web platform with an interactive map and calendar for the regional initiatives, organisations and their events to increase visibility of the actions, accessibility to information, awareness of what is critical, emergent and beautiful in ur Bioregion to inspire collaborations and activate further change makers.
